I ate this overwhelming portion of EGG FOO YUNG yesterday because I went to lunch with my mom. I didn't eat breakfast in preparation but obviously my preparation wasn't good enough. I just hate how pointless everything seems when I feel really full. There is almost a sense of nothing to look forward to because I am stuffed, tired and have no will to do anything and I am not eagerly awaiting the next small meal to satisfy a building hunger. I think getting really stuffed is good maybe twice a week or so. I always feel like I should exercise when I am really full but my imagination tells me that if I were to exercise even three hours later I would end up throwing up or something.
-Summer,go away you are annoying. At least you can give me credit for you know that I never wanted you around in the first place. Now I begin to hear the bitching in moaning about how it's "so hot" and "the air is so stuffy"..yes yes but you all couldn't wait. Be quiet and sweat it out.
-Eagerly awaiting a bunch of books from the library. Reading Sarah's copy of Siddhartha in my spare time. Rescued it from the basement where it was nearly damaged by water.
-I actually enjoyed time with my aunt and uncle Monday night/early yesterday morning. It's strange because I normally can't stand hanging around family members and kin. There is always that foolish polite banter and it rarely goes beyond "So what have you been up to?" or "How is work?" I can honestly say that I enjoyed talking with my aunt and uncle though. They displayed a genuine interest in my artwork,my ideas and my life in general. I have barely ever show my artwork to family,immediate/extended. It's probably due to the fact that a lot of them will fake an interest merely because of a blood connection and frankly, that is insulting to me.
-I think that every time I go grocery shopping I should wear a hood(but I won't). I just like the feeling of scowling at people under a hood while rushing through the grocery store at near light speed. Once the weather is cooler and my Alpenflage camo jacket is out of the closet, scowling shopping shall commence.
-Indie rock douchebags listening to black metal(no other metal mind you, just black metal and usually black metal of the blandest sort). All the same tiring occult imagery(but little to no interest in the occult itself),inverted cross GIFs,"mysterious" online profiles. Finding their girlfriend's pages usually reveals their scruffy bearded nature which they attempt to play down significantly..playing with small animals, eating tofu pups on the beach and listening to post rock. This pet peeve is part of a bigger issue.. which Zach and I STILL haven't written an essay about.
-Shame on me for never really delving into French progressive rock on account of some bad albums. Now it seems that one after the other,French prog rock albums are winning me over. I have almost lost total interest in the more popular countries and their obscure gems..except for Germany of course. Germany is chock full of the most amazing albums from the 70's and early 80's.
-Drinking the blackest coffee with no sugar,no milk ect. It is fuel.
-The end is nigh.

[Fade to the boy’s locker room later. Justin is approached by Dooley.]

DOOLEY: Hey, Leather Boy. So what’s sick, slick?
GUY WITH WEIRD HAIR: Timmy says you’re the new king of porn.
DOOLEY: Kinky, the Clown.
JUSTIN: Yeah well you know, I mean, have to watch a bit of porn before swim practice, it kind of jumps me up a bit, you know?
GUY WITH WEIRD HAIR: Hear you’re a real freak though. Into the real twisted stuff.
JUSTIN: [Realizing he’s losing ground] Come on you guys I’m just foolin’ around, this whole porn thing’s a joke.
DOOLEY: [Leans in] You’re the joke, Leather Boy. Yeah.
[Timmy comes up from behind]
JUSTIN: Hey dude…
TIMMY: Hey freak. I’m still getting perverted spam on account of you. I oughta kick your warped ass.
GUY: [Somewhere in the background] Do it!
[Timmy punches him in the rib, then bitch slaps him.]
GUYS: Ohhhh, [Laugh]

[Timmy walks off. One of the guys calls out “Leather Boy!” one last time. Justin is stunned and confused. Fade to commercial break.]

I was thinking about being a tree yesterday. You are vulnerable and could easily get chopped down but think about being a mighty oak, retaining information and memories. Say you were planted in the early 1800's and were still around today overlooking a backyard or something. I think I would trade my human life for this tree existence in minutes. I guess ideally speaking this tree existence would be like sleeping/dreaming but very aware of your surroundings. I have been considering making a series of drawings with women in them. Leon was talking about how he hardly ever draws women and I have maybe drawn 5 or 6 over a year. I am thinking about committing myself to drawing "BEAUTIFUL WOMEN" for a Frederic Fleury book sometime in the future. Minimal, less detailed B/W drawings. I have a growing folder with pictures of bikini clad models,a lady charming a serpent,Joe Camel with some women,a bottle of syrup shaped like a curvy woman. I guess I have never really pondered why I don't draw women. I used to struggle with drawing Princess Leia and Oola(Jabba the Hutt's Twi'Lek dancer/rancor fodder) back in my early years. My parents would frequently discourage me from drawing really big breasts but big breasts/huge ass lips were the difference between males in females at the time. Once I got into comic books, and my drawing skills developed, I really started to give up on drawing women. It was just too hard to draw them. I would spend so much time drawing male after male..all pretty much the same except for the hair/outfit/mask. It was then quite difficult to draw a weirdly flexible looking comic book babe who looked attractive even when grimacing in pain, fighting in the heat of battle and ect. I can remember spending hours on this pencil drawing of Poison Ivy. The final result is what looks like a pointy faced man full of eraser marks with big breasts and a tiny waist. So obviously my parents favored it less than a drawing of Wolverine or Cyclops(which were always displayed on the fridge with pride)My mom would actually take tons of my comics and tape white squares of paper over the chests and prominent backsides of women. I hadn't started to think about comic book chicks sexually until she started doing that..meaning I hadn't really wondered what was beneath Rogue's skintight yellow/green uniform until there were white squares covering her up. My parents forced me to return several copies of W.I.L.D.C.A.T.S due to the artwork in them. My attempts at drawing realistic looking women were short lived. A pencil drawing of Ellie from Jurassic Park is so awful that, based on looks, the velociraptor pictured beneath her would be more likely to get a date. My all time favorite lady drawing is a crude pencil attempt at a girl who I saw at homeschool group once a week. I guess I had a crush on her because I spent day after day working on this drawing of her sitting at a desk writing. Despite the fact that it looks like a potato headed man with a ponytail,I like it. She has a normal body, regular lips,no big eyelashes or watermelon tits, she doesn't have pointy nail-fingers..as realistic as I could get at the time. It is a bad drawing but I can remember thinking that I could be comfortable giving it to her(maybe I would have if the face wasn't so deformed). And here is a drawing I started two Sundays ago before I really started wondering about a lack of women in my art. I drew this lightly in a coffee induced daze..two starving Beavis-style females, walked by grandpa.

[In the family room, he gets his mom’s purse and fishes out her credit card. “YOU ARE NOW FREE TO USE THE INTERNET” pops up on the screen after some more typing. Justin types Diane’s credit card number into a porn site and is greeting with another montage of smiling women, cleavage, and moaning. He has another energy drink, and over the course of his porn surfing, takes his shirt off. He types another message to Monica. Fade to commercial break.]

We all know that art can come in many forms, but the oh so au-natural form of grass is a new one that takes green to a whole new level. This year at the 2008 Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Grass Art takes center court in a new kind of art installation. UK artists, Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey used grass as a photographic paper by projecting a black and white image on it while growing in a dark room.

As part of London Festival of Architecture 2008, award-winning media production studio Squint/Opera envisions London life in 2090, long after sea levels have risen from global warming. Imitating some of the techniques of the super-idealistic Victorian landscape painters, Squint/Opera have used a combination of photography, 3d modeling and digital manipulation to present five unique visions of a tranquil utopia in a familiar, yet drastically altered, landscape.

Mixing beer with driving is usually not a good idea, but throw in a political convention and you may be on to something. In an effort to green the upcoming Democratic National Convention, the Democratic party has announced that the official DNC vehicles will use an ethanol-gasoline fuel blend made from waste beer! Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing Company will be filling the tanks of the 400 GM flex fuel vehicles in the DNC fleet which will transport officials, politicians, delegates, staff and media around Denver for the August 25th event.

Usually at big family meetings my grampa ends up giving a speech about how proud he is of us and how strange the world is and how lucky our family is that nothing bad has ever happened to any of us. During these speeches you can see an orange and yellow flame appear above the head of almost everyone in the room - everybody can see whose flame is big and wild and dangerous, whose is calm and steady, whose isn't even there - but nobody can see their own flame because if you have one it just comes right out of the top of your head and nobody has eyes up there. It's maybe a good thing that grampa didn't give any speeches this last week though, because I'm trying to be less competitive about everything; I don't want to care anymore who can run more miles, who can throw the football farther, who has read more Nabokovs, who has been to more countries, who is better at remaining calm and normal in public, who has a cooler job, who can cook some better food, who has the best shirts, who has a bigger flame coming out of their head, who has a bigger dick.

The Swiss company Mindset AG has announced that it is planning to produce an ultra-lightweight hybrid vehicle with roof-mounted solar panels. The hybrid coupe, dubbed Six50, is the work of former VW head of design Murat Günak and from what we’ve seen of the preliminaries, this car is as cool looking as it sounds.
